Traveler and Eater
I am an avid world traveler who loves to hike and see new things that our beautiful planet has to offer. Within the U.S., I have hiked through several amazing national parks and plan to go to all of them within my lifetime. Check out photos from my adventures below!
Besides traveling, I am an insatiable foodie who loves to eat (who doesn’t?) and spends way too much time on Yelp. I believe it is immoral to eat without taking pictures of the food first.
LGBTQ+ Advocate
I believe that everyone should be treated fairly and given equal opportunities regardless of their sexual orientation and gender identity. I aspire to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone in academia, especially in the STEM community where LGBTQ+ individuals are underrepresented. To this end, I have participated in several programs and campaigns that aim to advance diversity and inclusion. As a doctoral student, I was a member of Lambda Grads, which is an umbrella LGBTQ+ organization for graduate and professional students at the University of Pennsylvania. Our organization organized a wide range of professional, academic, and community-building programming that aimed to bring about greater awareness to LGBTQ+ issues in academia.
